The mantra of Chenrezig, the Buddha of Compassion, is hand etched countless times on both the interior & exterior of the bowl.  The inside bottom has a Sanskrit OM symbol & on the bottom is the Tibetan double dorje symbol, with yin yang in the center

this one, the biggest, measures 9" at the rim, 4 1/4" in height & with all components weighs close to 5 pounds unpackaged - & the
sound is incredibly beautiful, persistent & long lasting, only very slowly fading away
the 7 1/2" solid wood & black leather wrapped mallet striker produces a completely different sound than the long 9 1/2" striker with the soft felt ball on the end
each bowl comes with a brocade covered ring that holds the bowl securely & with minimal interference with the natural sound of the bowl.  For this 9" bowl it is colored purple
this bowl is made by hand in Nepal by the finest & most experience craftsmen.  It is made of the traditional seven metals, i.e. gold, silver, copper, iron, tin, lead, and zinc, with each metal having a specific purpose & each one representing a planet
